Eristalis intricarius
General description:
A common bumblebee mimic which often appears early in the spring, espacially around flowering willows (Salix).
Diagnostic description:
Sexually dimorphic - both species have a yellow scutellum, females have a white 'tail' and males a yellowish or reddish brown tail.
