Omocestus viridulus (Common Green Grasshopper)
General description:
The majority of records for the common green grasshopper are from Barra and South Uist. It may be under-recorded, but it appears to be scarcer than the mottled grasshopper.
Diagnostic description:
It lacks the clubbed antennae of the mottled grasshopper and is predominantly green with curved pronotal keels. It is more often heard than seen with the loudest song of any of the British species.
