Tetrix undulata (Common Ground-hopper)
General description:
This species has only be recorded in Barra and South Uist. It has not been recorded in Barra since 1937 and all the records for South Uist are from one site in a single year. It is possible that it has been over looked as it is small, well camouflaged and does not "sing".
Diagnostic description:
The long pointed extension of the prothorax is characteristic of all groundhoppers, and the complete prominent keel separates it from the very rare slender groundhopper.
