Aves (Birds)  

Over 330 species of birds have been recorded in the Outer Hebrides and more than 100 species breed in the islands . The Outer Hebrides are an important part of flyway for birds migrating to and from their northern European and arctic breeding grounds and a refuge for windblown vagrants from America and northern Europe.
OHBR do not collate biological records of birds and all avian records are forwarded to the County Bird Recorder.
