Erinaceus europaeus (West European Hedgehog)  

Introduced into the Uists in the 1970s hedgehogs have had a serious effect on the breeding success of ground nesting birds on the machair. Although a UK BAP species, it is subject to control measures on North Uist and Benbecula and classed as an Invasive Non-native Species
