SUMMARY
Colletes succinctus is the more common of the two species of Colletes recorded in the Outer Hebredies. It almost always forages on heather and is therefore active much later in the summer. than C. floralis which is restricted to the areas of machair and coastal dunes. It is a solitary bee which bests colonially.
