Hymenoptera (Bees, Wasps & Ants)  

The Hymenoptera, bees, wasps, ants and sawflies, is one of the best studied orders of insects in the Outer Hebrides. However, only 95 species have been recorded, a mere 1% of the UK total, which is indicative of the low diversity of this group of insects within the islands.
