Lepidoptera (Butterflies & Moths)  

Over 560 species of butterflies and moths have been recorded in the Outer Hebrides, approximately 20% of the total for the British Isles. Only 15 species of butterflies breed in the islands, the other two species have been recorded intermittently (Clouded Yellow and Orange-tip)
