Pontania collactanea
General description:
Pontania (Eupontania) collactanea is specific to creeping willow (Salix repens) causing spherical galls which hang beloww the leaves. It is a northern species, locally common in northern Britain and Ireland.
Diagnostic description:
The gall is 5-8mm in diameter and is attacged to the midrib or side vein with a scar on the upper side.
